Transferring stock from another broker

To transfer stock that is currently held for you by another broker simply complete our Asset Transfer Form and we will do the rest.

If the assets are held with a US or Canadian Transfer Agent you will need to complete an Asset Transfer Form - US & Canadian Transfer Agent.

Please return completed forms to the following address:

We do not charge a transfer in fee, but there may be an exit charge from your current provider.

Deposit your share certificates

You can deposit share certificates that are registered in the same name(s) and the same address as your Trading Account by completing a CREST Transfer Form for each holding you wish to deposit and sending it to us with the original share certificate(s).

Share certificates can be costly to replace, so please consider sending them by registered mail. If the certificate is lost on its way to us, we will not be liable for the costs of replacing it.

Please send your completed forms to:

When we have received your valid share certificate(s) and signed CREST transfer form(s) and no other documentation is needed, your shares should show on your portfolio the same day we receive them. However, you will not be able to trade or move them until the deposit has been approved and completed by the Registrar.

Once your transfer has been initiated you will be "out of the market" and unable to sell existing investments or invest any cash balance until received into your account. This may work either to your advantage or disadvantage. The value of investments, and any income from them, can fall as well as rise so you could get back less than you invest. If you are unsure about the suitability of a particular investment or whether transferring your assets is the right course of action you should speak to suitably qualified financial adviser.
